More than Baby Steps

Today has been a huge leap towards recovery. Jason was visited by the physical therapist this afternoon and they took him for a walk down the hallway and back. He did great and although the pain is still there, it is becoming more and more bearable.

Also, the results came back from the x-ray on his neck and they found that there is no abnormal movement in the cervical spine and so he gets to take the c-spine collar (neck brace) off. His neck is a bit stiff, but he is glad not to have this restriction any longer. Jason got to pose for his first picture with his sweet family since the accident. If this doesn't make you cry, I don't know what will. God's blessings are overwhelming, and to see Jason standing and looking like "Good Ol' Jason" is wonderful.

I am so glad to see Jason up, and to hear the neck brace is no longer needed. PTL. The picture of your son is cute and he sounds like a great fit for the family. I am praying that Jason continues to heal, and the pain decreases. I am also praying for an easy adoption process! I luv ya guys.

WOW! Jason, you look so much better than when I saw you yesterday - really just a little over 24 hours ago. I am so happy you got rid of that darn brace! It makes my heart dance to see your picture with all your girls and of David. I can't wait to get my hands on him and kiss his sweet baby cheeks (I can't imagine how YOU feel)! I'm so hoping that your pain is better today and they are able to keep it at a manageable level. Rebekah, you, too, are such a sweetheart. I feel so blessed to know you both and hope to get to know you even better....funny how things happen sometimes to draw people closer. God is so wonderful in his infinite wisdom!

I love you guys,
Karen Andrews

Jason,
Since hearing about the accident, you have never been far from me and Keo's thoughts and prayers. Your character has been an inspiration to me several times since we became friends and it is amazing how in the midst of all the pain you must be suffering your strength has inspired me once again. If there is anything Keo and I can do to help your family or aid in your comfort please let us know, we would be honored to do so.

Jason, you have always been such a figure of strength and courage. There is no doubt that you would fight through this with God's healing touch on your life. It was wonderful to see you standing with your family. Such progress in a short time. It may not be a good idea to get on a bike just yet, pal! YAHOO! Neck brace be GONE! Old brace: get out of town! New brace: A better fit/more comfortable?: bring it on! X-rays: looking good...and so are all you Goodmans in the latest pic! Wonderful to hear all these praises...! I will continue to be praying for smooth rehab/complete healing, pain management, and just for God to be your strength, refuge, and joy in the midst of it all. Jason, thank you for taking those PT's on a long walk! No racing just yet. ;) Love in Christ, Melissa Lathrop
